Get race-ready with our partner GoZero's Climate Solutions, which can help you estimate or measure your emissions intensity, create an effective reduction plan, connect you with effective and affordable solutions, and track your progress towards and beyond your 5% annual reduction target.
The Race to 2030 uses emissions intensity data, which is the amount of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of revenue, allowing comparison from year to year, as your business evolves and grows.
INDIVIDUALS
Kiwis can join the Race to 2030 for free. Earn an annual Race winner's medal when you reduce your emissions by over 5% each year and try to get the highest total reduction by 2030. Use the FutureFit app to calculate quickly calculate your carbon footprint and easily measure the emissions reductions that you make. Subscribe to a GoZero Climate Action Kiwi account to turn reductions into Carbon Points rewards and access great deals from a range of businesses.
BUSINESSES
Join the annual race category that best suits your business:
BRONZE
For businesses just getting started on emissions tracking and reduction. Use an estimate of your emissions intensity and plan and track your emissions reductions. Achieve at least a 5% emissions reduction over 12 months to claim your Bronze Race Winner badge to use with your products and services. Estimate and reduce your emissions using GoZero's Climate Solutions.
SILVER
For businesses that measure their emissions intensity. If you have already measured your emissions intensity, use this as a baseline and track your progress over 12 months. We recommend using the Climate Action Toolbox to create a baseline and reduction plan, and track your progress. Connect with effective reduction solutions, and verify your measurements and reductions with GoZero's Climate Solutions, to receive a Silver Race Winner badge, when you achieve at least a 5% reduction over 12 months.
GOLD
For businesses that have conducted carbon audits or achieved certification from leading providers and are reducing emissions each year. Simply provide your certification or audit results showing that you have achieved at least 4.2% emissions intensity reductions over 12 months to receive a Gold Race Winner badge. We accept the lower threshold of 4.2% certified annual emissions reductions for the Gold Race, in line with the Science Based Targets initiative's methodology.
